To formulate rations without a compound feed analysis assumes so much it is of very limited value.
The easiest way to enter a compound feed is to use the makeamix facility - preferrably through the FEEDMAN module. To do this you require the raw material inclusions for the compound feed. Whilst this is commercially sensitive information to the feed compounder (it is what makes their cake better than anyone elses) most reputable compounders will release this information to 'bona fide' clients. Once you have this information check all the raw materials are on the database. Then use the Makeamix option within the Feedman module. Enter all the feeds - the amounts specified can be in any units and do not have to add up to 100. When you have entered all the ingredients the mix analysis can be viewed from the menu and the name can be changed to a more memorable name. When you quit the makeamix menu you get the option to save the mix and you can select where it will be stored.
