The
DAIRY module calculates the nutritional requirements for lactating
and dry cows. Requirements are calculated according to the animals
weight, milk yield, condition score, rate of weight loss or gain,
stage of lactation and/or pregnancy, the feeding system used,
milk composition and predicted calf weight. Rations can be formulated
by selecting from up to 990 feeds with ration ingredients offered
ad lib or in known quantities. Rations are assessed and compared
to the animals requirements for energy, fibre, protein, fat,
starch, sugar and minerals with optional user defined requirements
for the subsidiary ration analyses. Financial margins over all
feeds, concentrates and purchased feeds are calculated on a per
cow and per litre basis. Mixes of up to 15 ingredients can be made
up and incorporated into the ration.
