Version 5 for Windows - Suckler Cows

Suckler cowsThe SUCKLER module allows the user to formulate rations for suckler cattle. The program considers the effects of body weight, weight change, pregnancy, lactation and dry matter intake correction factors to determine nutrient requirements. Weight change can be expressed in as kg change per day or condition score change per day and the weight change will be worked out. Similarly milk yields can be expressed as calf growth rates and the milk yield determined from this.

RUMNUT can be used to formulate rations to a range of protein systems; the revised UK MP system (1998-2001), the French PDI system (1989), the RDP/UDP system (Australia 1980), the USA (USDA) system (2001) and a system derived from the UK and USA systems and similar to the FiM proposals (FiM, 2002). The systems run concurrently and the user can switch whilst running the program either via the main ration status bar or the 'Protein System' menu option.
